Ghusl is an Arabic term that means the full-body ritual purification which is mandatory before the performance of various Islamic activities and prayers.

The Ghusl is the full ablution, a ritual of purification which consists of “washing hands and sexual organs, performing wudu (ablution), rubbing water into roots of hair, and pouring water over entire body, beginning with the right side.” [1]
The Ghusl must be performed after sexual relations, ejaculation, menstruation and post-partum bleeding. It is also performed to prepare a dead body for burial. [2]
